Participation and prerequisites
Do I need prior yoga experience to join a yoga trainer training certificate program?
No. Programs generally do not require advanced experience; discipline, regular attendance and openness to learning are the most important prerequisites. Both people new to yoga and experienced participants who want to deepen their own practice can join the same program.
Which age group is the children's yoga trainer training for?
Children's yoga programs are generally designed for children and teenagers aged 2–15; the training content is modular so that it takes the developmental differences across this wide age range into account.
I'm pregnant. Can I join the prenatal yoga trainer training or the classes?
You do not need to be pregnant to join the prenatal yoga trainer training; it teaches you how to lead classes for the pregnancy period. If you are pregnant and would like to attend a yoga class as a participant, we strongly recommend getting your doctor's approval first.
Who can join the yoga therapy training?
The yoga therapy modules are designed for yoga trainers, health professionals and advanced yoga practitioners who want to deepen their knowledge in this field. For some advanced modules, completion of the foundation-level yoga therapy training may be required.
Which certificate do I need first for Pilates trainer training?
To join the Pilates Reformer Trainer Training Certificate Program, you must first have completed the Pilates Matwork Trainer Training certificate. No special prerequisite is required for the Matwork training.
Programs and content
What is the difference between the 200-hour, 300-hour and 500-hour programs?
The 200-hour program is for foundation-level yoga trainer training. The 300-hour program builds on the 200-hour foundation with advanced philosophy, anatomy and teaching skills. The 500-hour program combines the two and amounts to a comprehensive “yoga master trainer” qualification.
What is the difference between yoga therapy and a regular yoga class?
In a regular yoga class, participants generally follow a shared flow. In yoga therapy, the practice is planned individually around the person's health history and needs; the aim is to provide support toward a specific health goal.
What is the difference between Gyrokinesis and Gyrotonic?
Gyrokinesis is a method that works the whole body through soft, flowing movements, drawing on yoga, tai chi, gymnastics and dance, and it can be practiced without equipment. Gyrotonic is a separate system, practiced on adjustable equipment specially designed by its founder, that aims to stretch and strengthen the muscles together.
Are the trainings online or in person?
Most certificate programs are offered online; some advanced programs also have in-person options in camp or retreat format, in Turkey or abroad. The format of each program is stated on that training's own page.
Certification and applying
What does a Yoga Alliance approved certificate mean?
Yoga Alliance is an international organization that sets content and duration standards for yoga trainer training. Graduating from a program with this approval means your certificate is based on a common standard recognized not only in Turkey but around the world.
Where can I teach after I receive my certificate?
A Yoga Alliance approved certificate lets you teach in a range of settings in Turkey and abroad, such as studios, fitness centers, hotels and resorts, corporate wellness programs and private lessons.
How can I apply to register for a training?
You can apply through the contact form on the relevant training's page, by phone or by e-mail. We recommend getting in touch before the training to ask about availability and dates.
