Roadmap
Which program should I start with?
Not all eight programs share the same entry point. A quick guide:
I have no experience
Start with the 200-hour program. There are no prerequisites; someone just beginning a yoga practice and someone who has been on the mat for years can join the same program.
I have my 200 hours and want to go deeper
The 300-hour advanced program takes philosophy, anatomy and teaching skills up a level. Completing both earns the 500-hour master-level qualification.
I want to work with a specific group
The 95-hour children's yoga and 85-hour prenatal yoga programs are paths to specialization. Each focuses on the physiology and lesson planning for its own group.
I want it intensive and in person
The Bali and Zanzibar camps and the Retreat program award the same 200-hour certificate in a residential format.
Frequently Asked Questions
About the trainer training programs
Do I need previous yoga experience to join the programs?
No. The programs generally do not require advanced experience; discipline, regular attendance and openness to learning are the most important prerequisites. Both people just starting their yoga practice and experienced participants who want to deepen their own practice can join the same program.
What is the difference between the 200-, 300- and 500-hour programs?
The 200-hour program is for foundation-level yoga trainer training. The 300-hour program builds on the 200-hour foundation with advanced philosophy, anatomy and teaching skills. The 500-hour program combines the two and carries a comprehensive "yoga master trainer" qualification.
What age group is children's yoga trainer training designed for?
Children's yoga programs are generally designed for children and teenagers aged 2–15; the course content is modular so that it takes into account the developmental differences across this wide age range.
I am pregnant; can I join the prenatal yoga trainer training?
You do not need to be pregnant to join the prenatal yoga trainer training; the program teaches you how to lead classes for the pregnancy period. If you are pregnant and want to take a yoga class as a participant, we strongly recommend getting your doctor's approval first.
Where can I teach after I receive my certificate?
A Yoga Alliance approved certificate allows you to teach in Turkey and abroad in settings such as studios, fitness centers, hotels and resorts, corporate wellness programs and private lessons.
